Border Security Force (Communication Set-up) is inviting online applications for Head Constable (RO & RM) (Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial). Service carries All-India liability; selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India. Applications are accepted via online mode only.
Karnataka note: A Bengaluru recruitment centre (CEDCO BSF, AFS Yelahanka – 560063) is available among BSF centres.

🎓 Educational Qualification
Head Constable (Radio Operator)
- 12th/Intermediate with PCM as a regular student with 60% aggregate in PCM; OR
- Matric + 2-year ITI in any one of: Radio & Television, Electronics Engineering, COPA, DPCS, General Electronics, Data Entry Operator.
Head Constable (Radio Mechanic)
- 12th/Intermediate with PCM as a regular student with 60% aggregate in PCM; OR
- Matric + 2-year ITI in any one of: Radio & Television, General Electronics, COPA, DPCS, Electrician, Fitter, IT & ESM, Communication Equipment Maintenance, Computer Hardware, Network Technician, Mechatronics, Data Entry Operator.

💳 Application Fee
- ₹100 per post — applicable to male candidates of UR/OBC/EWS.
- Exempted — SC/ST, BSF departmental candidates, Ex-Servicemen, Compassionate Appointment, and all female candidates.
- CSC service charge (if paying via CSC): ₹50 + taxes = ₹59.
- Pay via Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / authorized CSC. Fee is non-refundable.
📝 How to Apply
- Visit the BSF Recruitment Portal and complete the online application during the active window.
- Read all instructions carefully before submission; keep required documents ready (photo, signature, certificates).
- Select one Recruitment Agency (RA) / centre (e.g., Bengaluru — CEDCO BSF). You cannot change the centre later.
- If applying for both posts (RO & RM), submit separate applications and fees. Choose one centre only.
- Submit application, pay the fee, and download/print the e-Admit Card for future stages.
💼 Salary & Allowances
Pay Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100) with applicable Central Government allowances (DA, Ration Money, Dress Allowance, Special Compensatory Allowance in specified border areas, HRA/Accommodation, TA, LTC). Coverage under NPS.
🧩 Selection Process
- Phase-1: PST & PET (RFID monitored) — Qualifying. Men: 1.6 km in 6½ min, Long Jump 11 ft, High Jump 3½ ft. Women: 800 m in 4 min, Long Jump 9 ft, High Jump 3 ft. (Ex-servicemen exempt from PET.)
- Phase-2: CBT — 100 MCQs, 2 hours, 200 marks.
Physics 40 Q / 80M; Maths 20/40; Chemistry 20/40; English & GK 20/40; negative marking 0.25 per wrong answer; qualifying marks: 38% (UR/OBC/EWS), 33% (SC/ST), 20% (CA). - Phase-3: HC-RO only — Dictation (150 words, 50 marks) + Paragraph Reading (qualifying). HC-RM: Documentation & DME/RME.
- Final Merit — HC-RO = CBT (200) + Dictation (50); HC-RM = CBT (200).
