Educational & Other Essential Qualifications

  • Matriculation (10th) from a recognized board.
  • Valid LMV (Motor Car) driving licence issued by competent authority.
  • Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (ability to remove minor defects).
  • Driving experience of at least 1 year after obtaining LMV licence (experience certificate from eligible orgs).
  • Domicile certificate of the State against which the candidate applies (e.g., Karnataka for Bengaluru SIB).

Tier-I (Online — 100 marks, 1 hour)

Salary & Allowances

  • Pay Level-3: ₹21,700 – 69,100 (Pay Matrix)
  • Special Security Allowance (SSA): 20% of basic pay
  • Cash compensation in lieu of duty on holidays (capped at 30 days), plus other admissible Central Govt. allowances

How to Apply (Online)

  1. Go to the MHA website or NCS portal and complete Step-I registration to get Application Sequence No. (ASN) & password.
  2. Login and fill Step-II: personal & qualification details, upload photo (50–100 KB) and signature (50–100 KB) (JPG/JPEG), and pay fee.
  3. Fee payment: Online via SBI ePay Lite or generate e-challan and deposit at bank (within validity).
  4. Select your SIB carefully (e.g., Bengaluru for Karnataka); it cannot be changed later.
  5. Choose up to 5 exam cities for Tier-I (you may be allotted any one).
  6. Submit and save/print the application & payment acknowledgement for future reference.

Tip for Karnataka: Apply against Bengaluru SIB if you hold a Karnataka domicile. Keep domicile, DL and experience proofs ready for verification.
