Total Apprentice Vacancies & Karnataka Candidate Guide – IOB 2025

Indian Overseas Bank has announced 750 apprentice vacancies across multiple states and Union Territories for the 2025–26 session. These posts are part of a one-year apprenticeship program under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Karnataka has 6 openings in this recruitment. While the majority of seats are spread across other states, eligible graduates from Karnataka can apply under the All India quota. Educational Qualification

• A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Additional note for NATS candidates:

• If you are registered under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), your graduation result must have been declared between 01.04.2021 and 01.08.2025 (both dates inclusive).

• You must be able to produce your Mark Sheets and Provisional/Degree Certificate from the University/College as and when required by the Bank.

Age Limit  (as on 01.08.2025)

• Minimum Age: 20 years

• Maximum Age: 28 years (General & EWS candidates)

• Date of Birth should be between 01.08.1997 and 01.08.2005 (both dates inclusive).

Upper Age Relaxation

• SC / ST: 5 years

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years

• PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): 10 years

Important Notes:

• Fee payment is online only from 10.08.2025 to 20.08.2025 via BFSI SSC portal.

• Fees are non-refundable and cannot be adjusted for any other recruitment.

• Candidate should not have undergone Apprenticeship earlier with IOB or any other organization, or have job/training experience of one year or more after graduation.

• Apply online via BFSI SSC under “IOB Apprenticeship Program FY 2025-26”.

• NATS candidates: Login at nats.education.gov.in → Apply under “Indian Overseas Bank”.

• NAPS candidates: Login at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in → Search “Indian Overseas Bank” → Apply.

• Apply for only ONE State/UT (preferably your home state).

Selection Process 

• Online Examination (Objective type)

  • Subjects & Marks:

    1. General/Financial Awareness – 25 Qs / 25 Marks

    2. General English – 25 Qs / 25 Marks

    3. Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude – 25 Qs / 25 Marks

    4. Computer/Subject Knowledge – 25 Qs / 25 Marks

  • Total: 100 Qs / 100 Marks | Duration: 90 minutes

  • Conducted online via BFSI SSC on the scheduled date & time using camera-enabled device.

• Test of Local Language – Candidates must be proficient in one of Karnataka’s local languages; test exempted if proof from 10th/12th mark sheet is provided.

• Document Verification & Personal Interaction – For shortlisted candidates after the above tests.

Other Notes:

• 5% aggregate relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.

• No minimum qualifying marks per subject.

• In case of tie, candidate older in age gets higher rank.

💰 Salary / Stipend Information (Not a Permanent Job)

For General Apprentices:

• Metro Branches: ₹15,000/month*

• Urban Branches: ₹12,000/month*

• Semi-Urban/Rural Branches: ₹10,000/month*
  *Includes any Government of India subsidy.

For NATS-registered candidates:

• Metro: ₹10,500 (₹15,000 – ₹4,500 Govt. share credited separately)

• Urban: ₹7,500 (₹12,000 – ₹4,500 Govt. share credited separately)

• Semi-Urban/Rural: ₹5,500 (₹10,000 – ₹4,500 Govt. share credited separately)

Other Points:

• Stipend is paid monthly to the apprentice’s bank account after adjusting unauthorised leaves.

• Govt. share of ₹4,500 (if applicable) is credited directly via DBT.

• No other allowances or benefits are provided.
