✅ Selection Process & Exam Pattern

  1. Apply online via KEA → Download admit card from KEA website.
  2. Offline OMR exam at district centres (Bengaluru, Mysuru, Davanagere, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Belagavi, Dharwad, Ballari, Koppal, Vijayapura, Tumakuru, Kalaburagi).
  3. Compulsory Kannada test only for candidates who didn’t study Kannada in SSLC/equivalent or haven’t already qualified: 150-mark MCQ; need 50 marks to qualify. Marks are not counted in merit.
  4. Main OMR papers (post-wise patterns below). Negative marking: −0.25 for each wrong answer. For unanswered questions you must shade the 5th “no attempt” circle; leaving it blank attracts the −0.25 deduction.
  5. Qualifying threshold: Minimum 35% of total exam marks to be eligible for merit list (category rules apply).
  6. Merit & document verification: KEA shortlists based on merit + reservation; originals are verified before the final selection list is handed to the Department for appointment.

  • Paper-2 (Subject — Civil): 300 marks • 2 hours
