- Paper-2:
- Junior Officer – Quality Assurance: Inorganic, Physical & Organic Chemistry; interdisciplinary topics.

- Compulsory Kannada Language Test: Required only for candidates who have not studied Kannada at SSLC/equivalent. Objective test for 150 marks; 50 marks minimum to qualify. Marks are qualifying only (not added to merit).
- Qualifying benchmark: In the competitive exam, candidates must score at least 35% of total marks to be eligible for consideration (as applicable to KEA recruitment outside transport-specific posts).
- Negative marking: ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. An additional “no-answer” bubble is provided; shading it for unanswered questions avoids the negative mark.
- Exam centres: Tests are proposed across major Karnataka districts such as Bengaluru, Mysuru, Davanagere, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Belagavi, Dharwad, Ballari, Koppal, Vijayapura, Tumakuru, Kalaburagi (subject to administrative change).
- Merit & selection: Final selection will be prepared on exam performance (post-wise syllabus as above) followed by verification of original documents and eligibility conditions.
Note: The pattern above summarizes KEA’s notification for KSDL posts under both RPC and Kalyana Karnataka cadres. Read the official PDF for exact syllabus wording, centre list and any updates.
