Karnataka-Specific Guidance
Exam centres & planning: For Prelims, centres in Karnataka are Belgaum, Bengaluru, Gulbarga, Hubli/Dharwad, Mangalore, Mysore, Shimoga, Udupi; Mains is at Bengaluru. Pick the nearest city with reliable travel options—slots fill fast, so apply early to get your preferred centre.
Reservation works at All-India level: NIACL AO has no state-wise (Karnataka) vacancy split. Category benefits (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD) follow Government of India rules. If you claim OBC-NCL, ensure your caste is in the Central List and the certificate clearly mentions Non-Creamy Layer and is valid on the registration date. EWS needs the current Income & Asset certificate. Keep originals ready for verification.
Language: The exam is in English/Hindi; there is no Kannada language test for AO. However, knowledge of Kannada helps for customer interaction and local postings.
Posting policy: This is an All-India cadre. Be prepared for posting outside Karnataka; initial tenure at the first posting can run several years as per company policy.
Documents & application tips: Names on the application must match your ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Passport). If any certificate is issued in Kannada, keep the English format/translation prescribed for central recruitment. Use an active email and mobile for call letters and updates.
Pre-exam training (online): Available for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD—opt for it while applying if you’re eligible.
