Selection Process
- Written Examination (Offline – OMR): KEA will conduct an OMR-based competitive exam. Exam centres are proposed at Bengaluru, Mysuru, Davanagere, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Belagavi, Dharwad, Ballari, Koppal, Vijayapura, Tumakuru, Kalaburagi. Admit cards must be downloaded from the KEA website and brought to the centre along with a valid original photo ID (PAN / DL / Aadhaar / Passport / Voter ID / Govt. employee ID).
- Mandatory Kannada Language Test (where applicable): Exempt if you studied Kannada as 1st/2nd language in SSLC or have already passed the KEA/KPSC Kannada test. Others must take a 150-mark objective Kannada paper and score at least 50 marks to qualify. This paper is only qualifying and is not counted in the merit.
- Exam Pattern (post-wise overview):
- Group-B (Junior Programmer, Assistant Engineer-Civil, Assistant Librarian): Two papers — Paper-1: General Studies & Aptitude; Paper-2: Subject-specific (post-wise).
- Group-C (Assistant, Junior Assistant): Two papers — Paper-1: General Knowledge & SSLC-level aptitude; Paper-2: General Kannada + General English + Computer knowledge.
Note: Detailed syllabus & exact weightage will be confirmed in KEA’s detailed schedule/notification for this recruitment.
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. For unanswered questions, shade the fifth option on the OMR; if no option is shaded, 0.25 marks will be deducted per item.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure at least 35% of the total marks in the competitive exam to be eligible for selection consideration.
- Document Verification: Based on written-exam merit (after qualifying Kannada test) and reservation rules, shortlisted candidates will be called for original document verification. Final selection will be published as per KEA norms.
