🎓 Educational Qualification

To apply for RRC ER Kolkata Apprentice Recruitment 2025, candidates must:

• Have passed Class 10 (SSLC/Matriculation) or its equivalent (under 10+2 system) with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.

• In addition, candidates should possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.

Special Note:
Those holding an NTC in “Wood Work Technician” (under the Craftsmen Training Scheme – CTS) are also eligible to apply for the “Carpenter” trade under this apprenticeship.

⏳ Age Limit 

To apply for the RRC ER Kolkata Apprentice 2025 recruitment, candidates must meet the following age criteria:

• Minimum Age: 15 years

• Maximum Age: 24 years
  (Age will be calculated based on the date mentioned in the official notification)

The age must match the Matriculation Certificate or a birth certificate issued by a government-recognized authority. Other documents like horoscope, affidavits, or municipal birth extracts will not be accepted.

🧾 Age Relaxation Rules:

• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation

• PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): 10 years relaxation

• Ex-Servicemen: Additional 10 years + 3 years (if 6 months continuous service completed)

💳 Application Fee Details

• Application Fee: ₹100 (Non-refundable)

• Exempted Categories: No application fee for candidates belonging to
  SC/ST, PwBD, and Women categories.

📝 How to Apply

1. Eligibility Check:
   Apply only if you meet all criteria (age, qualification, trade certificate). Wrong info may lead to rejection.

2. Online Application:
   Visit www.rrcer.org and apply online. Read instructions carefully before filling the form.

3. Accurate Details:
   Use the exact details as in your 10th certificate. Mistakes in name/DOB can lead to disqualification.

🔍 Selection Process 

1. Merit-Based Selection
   Selection will be purely based on merit, calculated as the average percentage of marks in:

   • Class 10th (Minimum 50% required) and

   • ITI (in relevant trade)
     ➤ Example: If a candidate scores 80.85% in 10th and 91.68% in ITI, the average = (80.85 + 91.68)/2 = 86.13%

2. Tie-Breaker Rules

   • If two candidates have the same average, the older candidate will be selected.

   • If age is also the same, the one who passed 10th earlier will be preferred.

3. No Subject Filtering

   • No ‘best of 5’ or ‘best of 4’ rules — total aggregate marks will be considered.

4. Document Verification (DV)

   • Candidates up to 1.5 times the number of vacancies will be called for DV based on merit.

   • DV shortlisting is done 1:1 based on the candidate’s chosen unit/trade. Once selected for DV in one unit/trade, the candidate will not be considered elsewhere.

5. DV Preference for Extra Candidates (0.5 of 1.5 ratio)

   • These additional candidates may be allowed to appear for DV in other units only if the option is given in their application.

6. Final Selection

   • Final allotment depends on merit and availability of seats in the candidate’s chosen trade/unit.

   • Only one trade/unit will be allotted per candidate.

7. Important Note

   • The decision of the Railway Administration will be final in all matters related to merit and selection.

💰 Salary / Stipend Information (Not a Permanent Job)

• This is not a permanent railway job.
  The notification is strictly for Apprenticeship Training only under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

• Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend as per current apprenticeship rules and government provisions.

• No direct job guarantee in Railways is provided after training. However, 20% of future Group D recruitments in Indian Railways may prefer candidates who completed apprenticeships from Railways, if they qualify the written exam and meet eligibility.
