SSC Constable (GD) Notification 2026 — Apply Online for CAPFs, SSF & Assam Rifles

Staff Selection Commission has released the notification for recruitment of Constable (General Duty) in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles for the year 2026. Educational Qualification & Physical Eligibility (SSC Constable GD 2026)

Education
Minimum Qualification (as on 01-01-2026)
Candidates must have passed Matriculation / 10th Class or equivalent from a recognised Board/University on or before 01 January 2026. Candidates who have not acquired the essential qualification by this date are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit
Basic Age Criteria (as on 01-01-2026)
18 to 23 years for General/UR/EWS candidates (i.e. born between 02-01-2003 and 01-01-2008, both dates inclusive).
Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories as per Government rules.

Women candidates of all categories and candidates belonging to SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) who are eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of application fee.
Mode & Last Date of Fee Payment
Fee can be paid through online modes only such as BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa/Master/Maestro/RuPay Debit Card. Fee payment through any other mode is not accepted.
Online fee payment can be made up to 01.01.2026, 23:00 hours. Candidates must ensure that the fee status shows as successfully paid in their SSC application.
Once paid, the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to verify eligibility and details carefully before making payment.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern (SSC Constable GD 2026)

Stage 1
Computer Based Examination (CBE)
Single objective-type online exam with 80 questions and 160 marks. Marks will be normalized and used for shortlisting candidates for PET/PST. Exam is of Matriculation level.
Stage 2
Physical Efficiency Test & Physical Standard Test
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CBE (force-wise, State/UT-wise, category-wise) will be called for PET/PST conducted by CAPFs. Height, chest (for males) and weight are checked in PST and race is conducted in PET as per prescribed standards.
Stage 3
DME/RME & Final Merit
PET/PST qualified candidates undergo Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification. Unfit candidates may be considered for Review Medical Examination (RME) where permitted. Final merit and force allocation are based on normalized CBE marks + NCC bonus (if any), subject to PET/PST and medical fitness.

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The paper is of Matriculation level and will be set in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages as notified by SSC.

How to Apply

  1. Visit SSC website: Go to the official SSC portal ssc.gov.in and open the link for “Constable (GD) Examination 2026”.
  2. New Registration / Login: Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) if you are a new user; otherwise login using your Registration ID and password.
  3. Fill Online Form: Select the GD Constable exam, fill in personal, educational and preference details carefully as per your documents.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload recent passport photo & signature (and other documents, if asked) in the prescribed size and format.
  5. Pay Fee & Submit: Pay the application fee online (if applicable) and finally submit the form. Take a print/ PDF of the submitted application for future reference.
