The official KARTET 2025 notification is now published by the School Education Department (dated 18 October 2025). Online applications will be accepted from 23 October 2025 to 09 November 2025 on the STS portal; fee payment via challan is permitted up to 10 November 2025. The exam will be held on 07 December 2025 (Sunday) with two sessions—Paper I (09:30 AM–12:00 PM) and Paper II (02:00 PM–04:30 PM); admit cards can be downloaded between 01–07 December 2025. Educational Qualification — KARTET 2025
KARTET 2025 Apply Online | Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test — Minimum eligibility is based on previous KARTET cycles and NCTE norms. The official notification will confirm exact criteria.
Paper I (Classes I–V)
- Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and 2-year D.El.Ed (passed or appearing).
- Senior Secondary with 45% marks and 2-year D.El.Ed in accordance with NCTE norms (passed or appearing).
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed (passed or appearing).
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Special Education (passed or appearing).
- Graduate with 2-year D.El.Ed (passed or appearing).
Note: Some states permit B.Ed holders for Paper I as per NCTE guidelines (with bridge programme requirements). Final position will be as per the Karnataka notification.
Paper II (Classes VI–VIII)
- Graduate and 2-year D.El.Ed (passed or appearing).
- Graduate with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (passed or appearing).
- Graduate with 45% marks and 1-year B.Ed in accordance with NCTE norms (passed or appearing).
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed (passed or appearing).
- Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed (passed or appearing).
- Graduate with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education) (passed or appearing).
Subject stream for Paper II: choose Mathematics & Science or Social Studies/Social Science as applicable.
Language Requirements & Other Conditions
- Language I & II: Candidates must select permitted languages (as per notification). Kannada is commonly opted as Language I.
- Minimum marks relaxations for reserved categories apply as per Government/notification rules.
- Appearing candidates in the final year of required programmes may be eligible, subject to proof as per the notification.
- TET qualification is an eligibility criterion, not a recruitment guarantee. Further recruitment (e.g., via CET) will have separate rules.
Age Limit — KARTET 2025 (As per Official Notification)
- Minimum Age: Not specified in the KARTET 2025 notification.
- Upper Age Limit: Not specified for appearing in KARTET.
- Number of Attempts: No restriction; candidates may attempt KARTET multiple times.
- Eligibility vs Recruitment: KARTET is an eligibility test only. Any age limits will apply later at the teacher recruitment stage as per the appointing authority’s rules.
- Certificate Validity: Lifetime validity as per current NCTE policy.
