🎓 RRB ALP Educational Qualification 2026

Candidates must have passed Matriculation/SSLC/10th Class along with one of the prescribed technical qualifications given below. The qualification must be obtained from a recognised Board, University, Institute, NCVT or SCVT, as applicable.

Candidates must have passed SSLC/Matriculation and possess an ITI certificate from an NCVT/SCVT-recognised institution in one of the notified trades.

SSLC with Act Apprenticeship

Candidates who have passed SSLC/Matriculation along with a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in any of the notified trades are also eligible.

SSLC with Diploma or Degree

Candidates must have passed SSLC/Matriculation along with a three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile Engineering, or a combination of streams in these engineering disciplines.

A recognised Degree in the same engineering disciplines is also accepted in place of the Diploma.

When the certificate is issued after the closing date, candidates may be required to produce semester/year mark sheets or an official certificate showing that the final result was declared on or before the closing date.

✅ RRB ALP Selection Process 2026

Candidates will be selected through the following stages:

1. CBT-1: Screening examination for shortlisting candidates to CBT-2.

2. CBT-2: Part-A marks are considered for merit, while Part-B is qualifying with a minimum of 35% marks.

3. CBAT: Candidates must secure a minimum T-score of 42 in every test battery. There is no negative marking.

4. Document Verification: Original educational, category, identity and other required certificates will be verified.

5. Medical Examination: Candidates must satisfy the prescribed A-1 Railway medical and vision standards.

Final Merit: CBT-2 Part-A marks carry 50% weightage and the CBAT score carries 50% weightage. CBT-1 marks are not included in the final merit list.

Negative Marking: One-third mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in CBT-1 and CBT-2.
