SSC CGL Recruitment 2026 — Apply Online for 12,256 Group B and Group C Posts
The Staff Selection Commission has released the official notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026. Through this recruitment drive, approximately 12,256 tentative Group B and Group C vacancies will be filled in various Ministries, Departments, Constitutional Bodies, Statutory Bodies and other organisations under the Government of India. Educational Qualification
The required qualification varies according to the post selected by the candidate. For most SSC CGL posts, a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent is required.
Assistant Audit Officer – Central Cadre
Essential qualificationCandidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or institute.
Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer – State Cadre
Degree and regional language requirementCandidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or institute. They must also have proficiency in the regional or official language of the concerned State at the matriculation level and possess the required language proficiency certificate.
Junior Statistical Officer
Special Mathematics or Statistics qualificationA Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized university or institute with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at Class 12 level. OR A Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
Statistical Investigator Grade-II

Selection Process
Candidates will be selected through Tier-I and Tier-II Computer-Based Examinations, followed by post preference submission, document verification and post-specific physical or medical tests wherever applicable.
Tier-I Computer-Based Examination
Tier-I consists of objective multiple-choice questions from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Candidates are shortlisted category-wise for Tier-II based on their Tier-I marks and the applicable cut-off.
Shortlisting StageTier-II Computer-Based Examination
Candidates who qualify Tier-I will appear for Tier-II. Paper-I is compulsory for all posts, while Paper-II and Paper-III apply only to candidates shortlisted for specified posts.
Post Preference Submission
Qualified candidates must submit their preferences for eligible posts and departments through the SSC online option form. Candidates who do not submit their post preferences within the prescribed period will not be considered for final allotment.

The concerned User Department or Organization will verify the candidate’s educational qualification, date of birth, category, identity and other required certificates before appointment.
Original Certificates RequiredPhysical and Medical Tests, If Applicable
Candidates selected for posts having prescribed physical, medical or Physical Efficiency Test requirements must satisfy those standards. These tests will be conducted by the concerned department after final selection.

Eligible candidates can submit the SSC CGL 2026 application only through the new SSC website or the mySSC mobile application. Candidates are advised to complete the application well before the closing date.
Visit the Official SSC Website
Open the official Staff Selection Commission website at ssc.gov.in and click the “Login or Register” option.
Complete One-Time Registration
New candidates must select “Register Now” and complete One-Time Registration using their personal, contact, address and educational details. Candidates may opt for Aadhaar-based authentication.
Log In to the SSC Portal
Log in using the registration number and password generated during OTR. An OTR created on the old ssc.nic.in website cannot be used on the new SSC portal.
Select SSC CGL Examination 2026
Under the Latest Notifications section, locate Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 and click the Apply link.
Fill in the Application Details
Enter the required educational qualification, category, age-relaxation, examination-centre preferences, examination medium and post-specific eligibility details. Provide disability or scribe information wherever applicable.
Capture a Live Photograph
Capture a live photograph using a webcam or mobile device. Use a well-lit place with a plain background, keep the camera at eye level and look directly at the camera.
Upload the Signature
Upload a clear scanned signature in JPEG or JPG format. The signature file should be between 10 KB and 20 KB. Blurred or miniature signatures may lead to rejection.
Preview the Application Form
Carefully verify the personal details, qualification, category, examination centres, photograph and signature. Complete the declaration, select “I Agree” and enter the captcha code.
Pay the Application Fee
Candidates who are not exempted must pay the ₹100 application fee through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or RuPay Debit Card.
Submit and Save the Application
Submit the completed application and download or print the final application form and payment receipt for future reference.
